On account of that sudden attack of Vertigo I kept away from WP the whole day and focussed on daily chores. But come evening I am lurking around but at a slow pace.
Today Kali, my stray pet, got her monthly bath, ear, teeth and anal (gland) cleaning. By now she has come to terms with it and does not panic.
I have been planning to get Chhin Chhin, the second stray pet, vaccinated for some time. This afternoon the mission was successfully completed. It was not easy and required three people to control her for the yearly anti-rabies injection. Though she is a quiet one but today she got agitated and almost uncontrollable out of fear. Credit goes to my vet’s assistant Kanhai, his nephew and Aakash the assistant at the neighbourhood Spine Clinic where Chhin Chhin stays – all three had to handle her for the dosage.
It was a noisy affair – everyone was out in the muggy afternoon when Chhin Chhin started howling aggressively – the lawyer next door, the neighbours on the floors above – all wanting to know what’s happening. Soon after the vaccination Chhin Chhin scooted off. Akash was almost in tears that she might not come back to him again but I assured him not to worry.
The Hon’ble Supreme Court has ordered that all street dogs should be vaccinated. I explained its importance to Aakash. In the evening when I was going for Physiotherapy, Chhin Chhin was coolly dozing under a bike. I called out to her and she came to me wagging her tail. I petted and told her the vaccine was not to give pain but to save her from a deadly disease. I guess she understood because the next moment she was running after a perceived enemy.
At the Physio’s the technician asked me why I did not come earlier.
“It’s bad”, She said.
Entering my name in the Register she queried, ” Aunty, your name is J…., isn’t it ?”
“No…no… I am her sister”, I exclaimed.
“Then you must be twins”
After another round of explanation the girl was apologetic, ” Sorry, I thought you were her.”
“It’s a common misunderstanding.”I said.
Walking black home I thought what a coincidence. Born seven years apart we still manage to look like twins. If this is not weird what is???

Chhin Chhin

About the twins, that’s really weird.
However, when talking about Chhin Chhin, I’m glad that she got vaccinated, despite difficulties.

What a day you’ve had — vertigo, vet drama, neighbourhood curiosity, and finally being mistaken for your sister. Your post reads like life happening in full volume. Loved how tenderly you handled Kali and Chhin Chhin, and how calmly you reassured everyone around you. And that “twin” moment at the physio was the perfect humorous twist to end the chaos. Life’s little oddities never fail to surprise.

I will call it a wonderful, fruitful day.Chhin Chhin waged his tail ,means she has understood vaccination is for her benefit.Being kind to stray animals is a virtue greater than being kind to pets.
And to make you laugh God chose that Gita Sita Effect (with due respect).

Thank you very much Nusrat. The strays are also my pets. One of them, Kali, lives with me but sometimes she is very adventurous.
The twin effect is again God’s joke. Cannot help it.
Enjoyed your comment 🥰
