This is in response to Rochelle’s Weekly Photo Prompt for Friday Fictioneers.
Word Count: 100

“Granny, what’s there in that bag?“
“Grand dad’s love”
“Show me”
“You cannot see. You have to feel it.”
And so it passed from one generation to the next.
What an inheritance! Sometimes I thought to myself.
Yet when my children asked I gave the same reply as granny gave.
Till one day while spring cleaning the bucket shaped bag was brought down and dusted robustly.
And a tear in the lining spilled out a few sparkling granules.
“What are these granny?’
I blinked twice.
Was my cataract again playing mischief???

Geetaji, kya khoobsurat aur ehsaas bhari kahani likhi hai aapne. “Grand dad’s love” ko itne simple aur gehre tareeke se dikhaya — dil ko chhoo gaya. Wo bag ek symbol ban gaya hai un emotions ka jo shayad dekhe nahi ja sakte, par mehsoos zaroor kiye ja sakte hain. Last mein jo twist hai, wo toh aur bhi sochne par majboor karta hai — sach mein, kya wo sirf granules the ya kuch aur? Bahut hi sundar aur soulful writing. 🌸

Geeta, I’m glad things fell out like they needed to. I bet they will be put to good use (e.g. education, home repair.)
