In response to Sadje’s Weekly Photo Prompts on #Whatdoyousee.

Early in the morning opening the Newspaper I was greeted with an unusual advertisement.
It said :
On Sale
Love
Hope
Passion
Courage
Happiness
Luck
Money
Take What You Need
I dialled the number given at the bottom in a hurry. On the third ring a voice replied suspiciously groggy…perhaps a bit tired too. I asked how to go about the transaction. His terse reply: “Sold out,” took me by surprise. I exclaimed in a huff ,” It’s not even minutes, Sir…!!!”
He said ,”So what ? You are mistaken…What you get is only a bouquet of illusions like mirage in a desert; reflection on water; rainbow on the horizon. Just admire from afar but don’t even dream to acquire”
“Then why?” I cried, disillusion setting in.
“Oh that!” His nonchalant reply, “It’s just to make you realise you’ve got to live hoping for them – a secret mantra merely to survive!!”

GC, enjoyed reading.

GeetaJi,
The scale itself is wrong when you saw
Gruff voice when confirmed, you in awe
Illusion you rightly pointed is what’s sold
In name of progress or pleasure new old
It’s old they put in new and label we know
Poets are their enemies, they beat brow

Rajendraji,
This is an awesome response to the post.
Illusions befuddle by their embellishments and of course poets are our biggest enemy who glorify these blind ornamentations.

What a whimsical yet thought-provoking read! 🌅
“Love, Hope, Happiness…Sold Out”—so cleverly done!
It reminds us these cannot be bought, only lived.
The groggy voice delivering wisdom made me smile.
A bouquet of illusions, yet full of life’s truths.
A gentle nudge to keep dreaming, hoping, and seeking.
Truly a beautiful reflection on the journey of living. 🌈

Thank you so much Mahananda.
The groggy voice knows he cannot sell what he has advertised.
One has to get those through continuous pursuit and patience 🙏

This reads like a gentle parable wrapped in modern irony. The “sold out” reply cleverly exposes how we chase abstract promises as if they were commodities, only to realise they can’t be owned—only lived and hoped for. A poignant reminder that meaning lies not in possession, but in the act of believing and continuing.
