A flurry of excitement.
Inauguration of the new electric oven.
Elaborate arrangements made to bake a cake.
Oven preheated
Half a dozen eggs slithered in melted butter.
Flour added ladle by ladle.
Soaked raisins and chopped nuts tossed in
The batter just ready to be placed in the oven.
“Oh! We have forgotten the powdered sugar!” Cousin shrieked.
He hurried to get the bottle.
A delicious aroma filled the kitchen.
The timer rang.
Let’s bite into a piece.
Ugh!
What’s this?
Why did it taste salty ?

Everyone was laughing at chutzpah
Bungling baker a butt of ridicule aha
The lady not only pretty but also pretty
Learned Kolkata and with Eliot’s Sweeney
Not a line on her smiling face changed
All asked, didn’t bother but in me confided
Dear bro you are the only one who spotted
Decades ago IFB Washing Machine Ad
And so purchased IFB for wife and friends
Astute lover of literature you always loved
Swede marvel of the ad agency so warm
In snow ridden offices, so cool and calm
Showed beautiful lady in elegant frock
Cross stretched legged and on hammock
Lost in the world of Austen’s prudent man
That model carved in lucid imagination
I mixed it all well and waited at Korean
Advertised as better than Europe oven
Finished the chapter and looked up, wow
You bro chuckling face and smiling glow
All smoke from oven that nasty Korean
You told me IFB is just a comparison

Wow!!
This is also an art
To make poetry just like that
In response to a post
Or staring at the sky
Or just to give a creative reply!!

Hahah – ooops – wrong container.
On a side note – I recently made tea with honey and added a some salt – because we sometimes add Celtic salt to things and it is an electrolyte boost – well this time – yuck – the dash of salt was so terrible had to dump the tea

Tea with a pinch of salt is considered to be very good for many ailments in this part.

yeah – but this one was so off?? maybe the water had minerals or was off – because I really thought it would be good tasting and have a health boost – as you noted you all do there

What a fun story 😁
That cake in the picture is also unappealing.

That cake was the prompt. 😆😆
Well, it is based on a true anecdote …my cousin put salt instead of sugar …such a waste of so much effort

It was the over excitement that confirmed, there were too many bakers doing the same cake. Fun read.

Dear Geeta,
It sounds like they used salt instead of sugar. Oops! Nicely done.
