I have a solid grief
Tucked in somewhere
Like an ice berg
It is not fluid
It doesn’t melt
It doesn’t flow
It stays as it is
On very hot days
It trickles down a bit
That’s it
The other day
Somebody told me
Flash floods hit
The neighborhood
Causing havoc
Uprooting many
Displacing households
Decimating what was once
A flourishing civilization
Unaware…sudden… unanticipated
However my composure
Is unshakeable
My grief doesn’t play
With people’s lives
It doesn’t bring in
Any unexpected turmoil
Or avalanche
It is still …glaciated
Unyeilding
It only kills me
Inside time and again
Nothing else

You’re most welcome. Love your new DP. The hair style looks great. 👍🏼

Great that you noticed. I was unable to work on my laptop because of vertigo. Unable to mail you thus. So I thought of changing the DP so that you can see. The previous DP was very old. After my surgery I find short hair less of an encumbrance.

I was watching for a new picture of you. Yes I too find short hair so very convenient. Easy to wash, style or even dye.

Thank you so much Derrrick 🙏.
Here I have just tried to draw a parallel between personal grief and Nature’s grief. Personal grief can be controlled but Nature’s grief is uncontrollable and overwhelming

So heartfelt and sad. There is far too much grief in the world.

Some feelings don’t need words. 🤍They simply stay with us, quietly. 🦋✨

This is so beautifully penned. Grief as an iceberg, which refuses to change and stays as though calm but chilling us inside and melts to seep through our souls and eyes on some days. I read this so many time Geeta 🙂

Thank you so much Parikhit. Is human grief greater than Nature’s grief? I wonder!!

Honestly you have made me question this too. We have people to complain to, ears that listen but Nature I wonder-do we hear her complaints as we continue to create havoc for her, do we listen to her pain as we strip her of her greenery. I really wonder.
