I have not been keeping well since my last outing – the reason why I am posting less on WP. Also the fact that I have decided to read more and write less.
After almost a week I was out for a walk in the evening. It was hot and sweaty. Nevertheless, I was determined to push myself, crossed over to the park, chose my favourite red bench and rested awhile before getting up and walking through towards the nearby market across the busy side road.
Today I made many exceptions – wore a saree, carried a bag full of clothes and left the mobile home. So no pics.
On the way I met my sister’s group of friends with whom she takes her walks. Incidentally, she is not in station. They asked me whether she was back. On hearing an answer in the negative they told me to take care and go safely wherever I was headed to. I smiled and nodded.
Close to the exit gate of the park I met another neighborhood lady – a busybody. She asked me where I was off to. I tried to evade her question. She was insistent. So I had to tell her where I was going. She told me I should have taken my sister along. I smiled again.
Sometime back such queries would have irked me. I would have taken them as an intrusion in my privacy. Today I felt safe and secure and happy. There were so many here looking out for me. I am not alone.
Time changes perception changes perspective.

It really does. Take care ❤️

Since you wore a saree, does it mean you were happy or got bored of salwar suit 😁.
Its true how we interpret events changes with time. I know the feeling.
Do you mind if I suggest we carry our mobiles when we’re out? Not for pictures, but for safety in case of an emergency.

😆😆 I felt happy wearing a saree. I was bored of all the western, fusion and informal wears.
Yes, I know carrying the mobile is a must not for pictures but for connectivity.
Thanks. You are also looking out for me from so far away.
Gratitude.

I thought so. When I get bored of western wears I switch to salwar kurta.😊

Interesting take, and very true. Perspectives change, and as we grow older, *meddling* shows the underlying concern.
But do carry the phone, for safety.

Yes, Jaya, thank you. Noted about the phone.

What a beautifully reflective post. What touched me most was the quiet shift from feeling intruded upon to feeling cared for — that subtle change in perspective is often one of life’s deepest lessons. Your closing line says so much in so few words: *time changes perception, and perception changes perspective.* Wishing you strength, healing, and many more gentle evenings walks ahead.

But Indian caring is too much at times too irritative too. Caring part is ok but over caring is like: If you are not married: “When is your marriage, its too late already”. After an year of marriage: “Didn’t have a baby still? Too late, make it fast”. Neighbor’s daily caring goes on without any end…How does this sound?
