The house was in shambles.

The walls wobbly…roof cracked.

The cobwebbed windows broken.

The wooden panes rotting.

The smell was in the air.

The doors unhinged.

Only the garden seemed green and alive.

I immediately said yes to the broker.

He seemed surprised, hemmed and hawed a bit and then said,” Ahem! I’d be honest with you. This place is rumoured to be haunted.”

I smiled, “Never mind! I”ll deal with that when the time comes.”

Handing over the cheque I thought to myself, “He still doesn’t know I am one of them.”

What fun…

It’s only fair that a ghost owns the haunted house. That was a fun read.

  20. Such a witty and deep poem, Ma’am! I resonate with your thought- sometimes we are haunted by others, and sometimes we haunt someone else’s memories~
