This is in response to Sadje’s Weekly Photo Prompts on #Whatdoyousee

speed of lightening is
not fast enough
to reach
you
the sunflower
merely raises its
head and blessings pour
never have I asked
for the sky
but the
rainbow,
yes, let
it spread on
my window and shine

This is gorgeous, Geeta! Clever too.

So much depth in so few words.
The shift from lightning to sunflower feels powerful and calm at once.
“Never have I asked for the sky…” is such a beautiful thought.
There’s quiet strength in this piece.
It lingers softly, like a rainbow on the window.

The sunflower lifting its head says more than speed ever could.
And that rainbow spreading across the window — such a lovely way to end it.

Brilliant imagery, Ma’am! As other commenters noted, I loved your juxtaposition of the calmness and storm!
