When you and I sit for chai
Overlooking the mountains
Clouds glide by
When you and I sit for chai
When you and I sit for chai
The misty blue sky deeply sighs
The bushes bloom roses smile
When you and I sit for chai
When you and I sit for chai
The chiffon-y breeze caress by
It’s quiet hum song like
When you and I sit for chai
When you and I sit for chai
No words are spoken, tears dry
The heart knows the heart well nigh
When you and I sit for chai
When you and I sit for chai
Moments tick by so fragile
A tale is writ stealing time
When you and I sit for chai
When you and I sit for chai
You and I know well nigh
Tomorrow may be another day
Another city another sky
Yet we hold hands today
Yet we let a memory get carved
Yet we let the throbbing hearts
Sing together a wispy croon
You and I like the sun and moon
Never to meet never to part
Yet we let the chai get cold
When you and I sit for chai

So wistful

This was interesting – and I liked the repeating lines – and then wow – the little zinger was this: “Yet we let the chai get cold” hmmmm

Is there a name to this very engaging format? 🙂

Not that I know of. I just wrote the poem like a song. You know the way you come back to the opening lines again and again. Something like , if you’ve heard the song, kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hai.

Its almost like someone famous has written this, the easy flowing words, simple, effective and meaningful, and the all important repetition of the chai.

Do you think famous people write better?

People write, they are expressing their feelings, thoughts, emotions that maybe they cannot openly reveal to whom they know.
They write, others like, someone established likes and then its a snowball effect.
Weve all seen the paintings and photographs of whoever are now called ‘ famous ‘ but when you look, it is probably no better than photographs you or I will take when out n about, its been liked by someone who is well known, held in high regard by others, and then before you know it, its worth millions. I sit and look . . . . .ive taken nicer photographs, sure everyone has but cos ive not put it forward in any way . . .im unknown.
Famous people dont necessarily write better, its cos they are known that they could write one word and it would be ” Wow ! “.
But your poems and writings possess a quality that they SHOULD be read by the masses Geeta.
