What will your life be like in three years?
I will be older
My joints stiffer
My brain ?
Will it be fuzzier ?
They call it wiser
I guess these wrinkles
Will be more pronounced
I prefer to call them laughter lines
Do you care by what name
I am known three years hence
“The old lady who lived there…”
I will let it pass
Perhaps I will become immune to what they say
What concerns me is whether
I shall keep knocking on all closed doors
Pound rather …. Till they open
Will I be happier?
Saner?
With a dash of cynicism here and there?
Will I look back more ?
Or be comfortable in the moment?
Restful with my memories ?
The mirror stares back
Light plays tricks
Nonetheless I wish to be lighter
Lighter still…lighter more and more
And be ready for the path ahead
As the caravan trundles on…

Oh, the charm of aging!
Each wrinkle is a story, and each ache is wisdom.
Let’s knock on those doors louder, embrace the laughter lines, and live lighter. It’s not about the years; it’s the joy in them!
Well expressed, GC!

I guess very few people find age charming 😁

True, but age is just nature’s way of adding character—like fine cheese, it only gets smellier! 🧀😂

Cannot even think about life three years on from now, just getting through one day at a time.
Nearly three ago my life collapsed, everything I knew, believed in and loved about my life destroyed, burnt to a cinder by the one closest to me. People say ” forgive, forget, move on, time is a great healer “, truly don’t have a clue about the impact on your life. To rebuild is the hardest thing ive chosen to do, walking away is an option but not one I chose. Only I know how far ive come in these years, and still making progress.
So three years from now, I hope that my life is happier, health is golden, let’s see.
Aging is a part of life, we adjust to changes, physically and mentally, doing the best we can with what support we have. Make the most of each given day.
