Since I ended the earlier post on untranslatable words of different languages, here are some interesting ones from Japanese. I became interested in this language because of its mystique beauty and my love for haiku. So here they are :
Yugen
“Profound and mysterious beauty.”
Natsukashii
“Bringing forth happy, poignant memories of the past.”
Kintsugi
“The art of broken things.”
Wabi-sabi
“Imperfect beauty.”
Komorebi
“Dappled sunlight filtered through tree leaves.”
Ikigai
“A reason for being.”
Mono-No-Aware
“The poignant sadness of impermanent things.”
Mamori Tai
“I will always protect you.”
Itadakimasu
“I humbly receive.”
Shinrin-yoku
“Forest bathing.”
Kogarashi
“Wintry wind.”
Furusato
“One’s hometown.”
Ukiyo
“Floating world.”
Ichi-go ichi-e
“Treasuring an unrepeatable moment.“
Fuubutsushi
“Things which remind of a season.”
Koi no yokan
“A premonition of love.”
Kuidaore
“To eat until you’re bankrupt.” .
Kanbina
“A word that sounds sweet and pleasant to the ear.”
Kimyou
“Strange, odd and/or mysterious.”
Hanagasumi
“A mist of flowers.” An image that appears like a haze of white and pink.

Kintsugi, because it is the only one I have met before and it was good to see a reminder
