If you could bring back one dinosaur, which one would it be?
Talking of dinosaurs I myself feel like one – ancient and obsolete. When I see today’s generation – their mode of amusement and entertainment restricted to discos and pubs, their overwhelming sense of individual liberty, their reliance on peers rather than family (which includes extended family as well), their sky high ambition transcending borders and contributing to the GDP of countries other than their motherland, their inability to care for their parents when they need them the most, their casual approach towards everything in general, their disregard for ancient wisdom , their lack of tolerance, their self centeredness, their lack of belongingness be it work or domestic front , their lack of ability to sustain adversities ….I can go on and on.
Question here is not to bring back the dinosaurs but how today’s dinosaurs can survive amidst the fracas of fast transitioning, or may I say, evolving society. The dinosaurs who are sandwiched between the world they were brought up in and the world they find themselves in at the fag end of life.
Contemporary Dinosaurs are a minority on the verge of extinction. The moot point is whether the society wants to save them from imminent death? Or let them die along with the culture they represent, perpetuate and find comfort in ?
It’s a reverse prompt for you all.

I like to think we are not yet extinct

I think you have raised a very relevant point. I see my parents (around 70) also experiencing the same at times and last couple of years since we have been staying together, our understanding, tolerance and acceptance for each other’s preferences has increased. I think world has space for everyone and it’s just about embracing the differences and letting people be themselves.
